Welcome!

This event  is a hike and facilitated mini-workshop. It goes from 2 PM till 4:30/5:00 PM beginning at the Viewridge Trailhead in Topanga and will consist of a 15-20min beginner-level hike on a single-file trail, then a 2-hour mini Compassionate Communication workshop/circle ⭕️ under an ancient California Live Oak 🌳, followed by a hike back to the trailhead. The hike back includes a mild incline.

For Whom?

  • People who'd like more heart-centered ❤️ connection with Nature, themselves and others.
  • People curious about learning conscious communication, whether you are a beginner or an experienced Nonviolent Communication practitioner.
  • If you haven't yet heard of Nonviolent Communication you can learn a little bit about it here:http://www.nonviolentcommunication.com/aboutnvc/aboutnvc.htm

Why?

  • To deepen your understanding and embodiment of compassionate communication.
  • To learn and practice NVC in a supportive space
  • To create community with people who care about conscious communication.
  • To make life more wonderful for yourself and others
  • To feel less stress and more sanity within yourself and with other living beings.

  • Opening circle where everyone has an opportunity to introduce yourselves
  • Facilitated self-connection (guided by Sage)
  • Learn a Compassionate Communication tool or concept
  • Guided experiential practice
  • Harvest (share what you learned)

What to bring:

An open mind, curiosity, water, snacks, comfy layers clothes suitable for sitting on the ground, closed-toe shoes suitable for walking on dirt trails, something to write on and with (eg. journal). I bring a sheet, however, you may want to bring additional seating options for yourself.

To support the continuation of this work, fee will offerings are greatly appreciated. ❤️

Where we'll meet:

At the Viewridge Road Trailhead in Topanga.

Parking:

There is ample free street parking on Viewridge Road.

You are welcome to invite your friends! Just ask them to join this Meetup group and to RSVP so I know to expect them also. Or you can enter in how many people are coming with you with your RSVP.

If you'd like to work one on one with me, please come prepared with a real life scenario that you are currently dealing with. My request is that this scenario be:

1. One that you are willing to look at from principles of Nonviolent Communication that I will share with you.

2. One that you are wanting/willing to role-play.

Please RSVP here so I know how many people will be attending and can plan accordingly.

We will start promptly at 2:00 PM. You are welcome to arrive early for socializing.

***IMPORTANT; PLEASE READ!***

There is a history on Meetup of people RSVP'ing as "yes" and then not showing up. However, for this group, I want to foster a culture of integrity in attendance.

I take each and every "yes" RSVP seriously. So, the following are requests related to my intention to foster a culture of integrity in attendance. Please carefully read the following requests.

If you RSVP as "yes," then my request is for you to arrive on time (or early).

If your plans change, please change your RSVP to "no" so that I know not to expect you. It makes a difference for me to know this, plus space is limited so by changing your RSVP to "no" you will free up space for someone else to RSVP as "yes".

If you know that you're going to be late ahead of time, or if you find yourself running late, please send me a private message here on Meetup to let me know that you will be late (click the "Contact" link under my name on this page where it shows the Organizer for this Meetup group).

Again, to send me a private message here on Meetup, click the "Contact" link under my name on this page where it shows the Organizer for this Meetup group.

I look forward to seeing you there!

P.S. The maximum capacity for this Meetup is 12 people, but I announce it through additional platforms, so the number of attendees here may not be accurate.
